On Sunday July 16, 2017, the "JCrete" conference opened its proceedings at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC).

On Sunday July 16, 2017, the "JCrete" conference opened its proceedings at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC). It will run until 21 July 2017. JCrete is perhaps the most important congress on e-innovation issues in the world. In fact, the truly innovative aspect about it is that JCrete (http://www.jcrete.org) is not just a conference, at least not in the strictest sense of the term. It is more a meeting designed to advance mutual understanding and to promote innovative technology.

The conference is attended by renowned software developers from Greece and around the world, specialising in JavaScript, one of the most popular programming languages. This year's conference was attended by more than 150 scientific specialists.

The "JCrete 2017" conference was held in Chania for its seventh consecutive year; that is, biblically speaking, its so-called "sabbatical" year. This initiative arises from within the framework of discussions and cooperation with the OAC on the responsible use of new technologies, and primarily learning tools.

At the end of the conference on the morning of Saturday July 22, a free session for children will be held (JCrete4kids) as usual. It is an opportunity for young people to think about the value and importance of computers and to seek out fresh perspectives, beyond the superficial challenges of electronic networks.
