Meeting of HAH Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew with His Eminence Archbishop of Crete Eirinaios, His Eminence Metropolitan of Kissamos and Selinon Amphilochios, the commissioner of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Church of Crete Most Rev.

Meeting of HAH Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew with His Eminence Archbishop of Crete Eirinaios, His Eminence Metropolitan of Kissamos and Selinon Amphilochios, the commissioner of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Church of Crete Most Rev. Archimandrite Prodromos Xenakis and the OAC General Manager Mr. Konstantinos Zorbas. The purpose of the meeting was the convening of the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church, which will be held from 16 to 27 June at the premises of the Orthodox Academy of Crete, Foundation, which has reference to the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The Holiness greeted and welcomed his interlocutors, underlining the significance and importance of the Pan-Orthodox Synod, calling it "historic event" and noting "it is a great blessing, the honor and the responsibility of the Church of Crete and the Orthodox Academy of Crete, which is the benchmark”.

The Archbishop of Crete Eirinaios conveyed the respects and thanks of the Hierarchs of the island, the clergy and the people of Crete for selecting the place of convocation of the Holy and Great Synod.

His Eminence Metropolitan of Kissamos and Selinon Amphilochios, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OAC, expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to the Foundation’s trust and choice.

Mr. Kon. Zorbas on his part assured that "the Academy, like all the Entities, all citizens, everyone will separately offer, as always, generously our help towards our Ecumenical Patriarchate for the implementation of this historic event".

The meeting was also attended by His Eminence Metropolitan of Sassima Gennadios, His Eminence Metropolitan of France Emmanuel and the chief secretary of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Most Reverend Archimandrite Bartholomew Samaras.
