"A look at the culture of Crete through the eyes of Nikos Kazantzakis and Pandelis Prevelakis".

The Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC) within the framework of cooperation and support of the educational community, invites all teachers to prepare an Educational Program, together with visual events, on: “A look at the culture of Crete through the eyes of Nikos Kazantzakis and Pandelis Prevelakis”.

The Educational Program will take place based on the books of Nikos Kazantzakis: a) At the Palaces of Knossos (for Primary Education), b) Report to Greco (for Secondary Education) and c) Four Hundred Letters by Kazantzakis to Prevelakis (for Primary and Secondary Education).

2016 is an anniversary year for the great Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis, with his first work in 1906 (the essay “The Disease of the Century” under the literary pseudonym Karma Nirvami) and his meeting with the other Cretan Pandelis Prevelakis Writer and Professor of Art History at the School of Fine Arts, in 1926.

The presentation of the above educational program during the current school year 2015-2016, by teachers and students, can be implemented either with the study of the works in the Course of Literature, Philosophy and Religion, or visits to the OAC and the Foundation’s Library "The Light", where they can study and make a special study of the work of the two great writers, and the organization of a scientific Conference for students, which will be organized by the OAC at the end of the semester and which will give awards to the participants.
